Appointments
We offer studio face-to-face appointments with one of our in-house milliners which allows you to try on the hats with your outfit. Please call us on 01725 512983 or email info@viviensheriff.co.uk to book your appointment. Appointments are available between 9 am and 4pm, Tuesday - Thursday and will take up to an hour. If you need to make an appointment outside of these hours please let us know and we will arrange something for you.
We also offer virtual appointments to those who are unable to attend a face to face appointment in the studio. Please email info@viviensheriff.co.uk to book your appointment, and send us images of your outfit and accessories, details of a particular colour or style you are interested in and a recent photograph of yourself so we can see what will suit your face shape, skin tone, and hair colour. We will then arrange a convenient time between 9 am and 4pm, Tuesday – Thursday with you for the virtual appointment to take place.
How far in advance can I book?
Hats can be hired up to the day of your event but it is sensible to allow 4 weeks before your occasion, especially in busy periods such as Ascot so you have a wider selection of hats to choose from.
How long can I hire a hat for?
The cost of your hat hire covers a 5-day hire period but you can hire for longer if need be, at an additional cost. During the busy summer season such as Ascot, this is reduced to 24 hours or 48 hours by arrangement.
When do I pay for my hat?
Payment is made at the time of booking your hat to hire, and we then arrange a time and day for you to collect it.
When can I collect my hat?
It is best to collect your hire hat from our Wiltshire studio 9am – 2pm, Monday – Friday, but we can deliver hired hats on a next day delivery subject to your order being received by 11am. Postage is added to the hire charge, a standard charge of £20 for next working day, £30 for next day by 12pm or £40 for next day by 10am. We cannot guarantee a weekend delivery.
How do I return my hat?
Returns are made in person to our studio between 9am – 2pm, Monday - Friday.
Alternatively, you may post it back to us by courier or Royal Mail Special delivery services. Please return the hat to us in the hat box within a carefully sealed box. If required, we can arrange a collection by courier subject to an additional charge. Collection is Mon-Fri 9am-5pm and you will need to print a label to affix to the outside of the box. No precise collection time can be offered for collections.
How do I wear my hat?
The hat is worn on the right over the eye and quite far forward. Do not wear the heat of headpiece far back on your head and make sure it is on the right way round!
Caring for your hat
Please look after you hat and return it in the same condition you received it. Do not wear it in the rain; use an umbrella or stay under cover in wet weather. Do not try and wipe off any marks, it is best to leave this to us to fix rather than possibly making it worse. Please keep the hat in the hat box when not wearing it.
Cancellations
Cancellations must be made no less than 1 month before the event in order for a refund to be issued. A consultation fee of £30 will be charged for any cancellation and deducted from the hire sum.
We do not offer refunds if you don’t wear the hat for any reason including cancellation of event, illness or unsuitability of hat.
